Emily’s work explores intimate connection with ourselves, others and the natural world. She create Old Master–inspired oil paintings influenced by artists such as Rembrandt and Caravaggio, using chiaroscuro to create a sense of intimacy and mystery.
Light becomes an important part of her storytelling, drawing attention to the connections between the figures and subjects within each painting.
